Two thick tagua pieces in turquoise, 20-30mm in size.

The thick tagua pieces are 20-30mm long, about 20mm wide and 15-25mm high. The tagua pieces vary in shape and size. Some tagua pieces are ever more oval and some more triangular. The cord hole channel runs the full length of the bead and is approximately 2.5mm in diameter. There are still remains of the shell on the tagua pieces.

The thick tagua pieces are colored all over. They have been polished and are very shiny. With the thick tagua pieces, each necklace becomes an impressive piece of jewelry.

The tagua or stone nut is a natural product that, after drying, is cut into slices, lentils, beads, rings, etc. before it is then colored. The individual parts may have cracks, grains, brown remains of shells, etc. These are not errors. These characteristics are wanted and make up the very special design of the Tagua products. Every single piece is cut, drilled and colored by hand. No part is like the other.
Tagua products, such as pearls, are relatively heavy and cool to the touch (this is the stone character). Because of its beautiful white fruit, the tagua is also known as plant ivory.
